Krakow Dance Theatre announces an open call for the concept of a performance employing contemporary dance technique. The performance will be put on within the framework of the international project Beyond Front@: Bridging Periphery, in the period October 2023 – February 2024.

Krakow Dance Theatre announces an open call for the concept of a performance employing contemporary dance technique. The performance will be put on within the framework of the international project Beyond Front@: Bridging Periphery, in the period October 2023 – February 2024.
The performance will be produced by the KDT. Framework conditions of the project:
team: 4-5 dancers of Krakow Dance Theatre;
the project envisages covering the cost of developing and building the set, music and costumes;
the choreographer selected as part of the open call will work with the KDT dancers over a period of 5-6 weeks (exact schedule to be determined, work will take place in several sets);
the choreographer will transfer full rights to the performance to the producer, including subsequent exploitation.
The producer will cover:
choreographer’s fee EUR 7,500;
board and accommodation in Krakow during the work on the performance.
Who is the open call aimed at?
professional choreographers with a proven track record;
people from the Beyond Front@ partner countries, i.e. Hungary, Slovenia, Sweden, Romania and Croatia.
How to apply?
Applications will be accepted until 31st July 2023.
By 13th August we will announce the choreographers shortlisted for the second stage of the selection. This stage will include online interviews with the selected individuals which will take place by the end of August.

What must be included in the application?
The application email should include:
- a concept for the performance according to the framework conditions of the project;
- a CV of the artist including artistic achievements;
- a video link to previous choreographic productions;
- contact details.
The organiser reserves the right to cancel the competition.

Beyond Front@: Bridging Periphery (2023-2026) is a cooperation project co-funded by the Creative Europe Culture Programme. The project’s mission is to strengthen the contemporary dance scene in the Central European region by connecting and supporting dance actors – artists, managers, festivals and institutions. Three main areas of action to be tackled in the project: collaborative strategies, capacity building and sustainable cultural production in the region. Its priorities are supporting training, greater synergies, and the enhancement of regional visibility.
