Description:

A globally recognized organization, specializing in crafting extraordinary live experiences across entertainment and sports, is seeking a highly skilled Production Stage Manager. This organization delivers bespoke guest experiences, including theatrical productions, live events, and immersive destinations, for a diverse international clientele. With a vast global presence, the company is committed to producing millions of live moments daily, empowering over 8,000 talented individuals worldwide. This pivotal onboard role involves overseeing the entire operational spectrum of a performance venue. Reporting to both shoreside management and the onboard Cruise Director, the Production Stage Manager is crucial for ensuring the seamless execution and artistic integrity of all performances and events. Key responsibilities include expertly calling cues for nightly shows, upholding the highest standards of technical and artistic quality, and managing all company-related aspects for the cast and crew. The successful candidate will foster a safe and efficient working environment, collaborate closely with technicians and the Dance Captain to coordinate rehearsals, and serve as the primary communication conduit between shoreside and onboard leadership, particularly during installations and cast transitions. Candidates should be professional communicators, capable of liaising effectively with management, performers, technicians, and maintenance teams. Duties will involve managing all technical, operational, and personnel requirements for daily performances, events, trainings, and rehearsals. This includes conducting regular meetings, ensuring the safe execution of all experiences, developing daily schedules, and producing detailed nightly performance reports. Responsibilities also encompass enforcing safety inspections, assisting with various venue events and technical setups, and actively participating in cast changeovers and new programming installations. It is understood that work hours may increase during these periods in compliance with maritime law. A foundational understanding of audio, lighting, video playback, spotlight operation, and deck tracks is advantageous. Ideal candidates will possess exceptional communication and time management abilities, a strong work ethic, and a positive attitude. They must be adept at balancing artistic demands with technical requirements and safety protocols, and capable of assessing technical support needs for diverse events. Essential qualifications include a valid passport (not expiring within 6 months of contract end), the ability to secure necessary visas for the ship's itinerary, and successful completion of a pre-employment medical screening, including comprehensive vaccination requirements (e.g., COVID-19 with booster). A Bachelor’s degree in theatre (production or technical) or equivalent professional experience is required, along with fluency in spoken and written English; additional languages are a plus. While cruise line or touring experience is beneficial, it is not mandatory. The ideal candidate thrives under pressure, maintains professionalism in high-stress situations, and can work seven days a week for contracts spanning 6 to 8 months. Comfort with living and working in close quarters with a diverse international team, standing for extended periods, and consistently lifting 50lbs/25kg is required. Comfort with working at heights is a plus. In return, the organization offers a comprehensive package including onboard handover and training, single-occupancy food and lodging, select privileges in passenger dining and gym facilities, reimbursement for visas and pre-embark medical expenses upon joining, and friends and family cruise discounts. Contract start and end dates are flexible. This organization is deeply committed to diversity and inclusion, believing that a diverse team strengthens its work. They actively seek to uplift applicants from all racial, ethnic, religious, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, and socio-economic backgrounds, as well as individuals with veteran and disability status. The company is dedicated to continuous learning and implementing initiatives that promote diversity and inclusion across all aspects of employment and creative endeavors.
