Posted on: Apr. 07, 2026

Description:

Nantes Reykjavik is a creative residency, dissemination, and masterclass program, designed for two musicians: one from Reykjavik (Iceland), the other from Nantes (or its region). Applications for the 2026 edition are open from March 24 to April 19, 2026.

Presentation
Nantes Reykjavik offers a solo artist, living in Nantes or in the Pays de la Loire region, the opportunity to create and produce music in Reykjavik for three weeks. The residency allows contact with the Icelandic artistic scene, through meetings, masterclasses, and concerts. No specific outcome is required at the end of the program.

The artist is welcomed and accommodated at "Hafnar.haus", a house run by a collective of artists (musicians, painters, writers, directors). The place is located in the center of Reykjavík, near the port, and has a sound creation studio, a kitchen, and shared equipment.

In parallel, a call for applications is launched in Reykjavík: an Icelandic artist will be welcomed at Trempo, a few weeks later, for a two-week residency. The program encourages professional meetings and collaborations between the two artists.

Program
Nantes Reykjavik offers an opportunity to work within a dedicated space in Reykjavik.
During the residency, the selected artist will also be able to:
• Give a concert in a venue in downtown Reykjavik and at a record store;
• Lead a workshop (in French), for the public of the Alliance Française;
• Lead a workshop (in English), at hafnar.haus for the local scene;
• Collaborate with Hafnar.haus residents and the Reykjavík Music City team;
• Meet professionals;
• Access the "Iceland Airwaves" festival for free.
