A European cultural cooperation initiative invites emerging artists and cultural professionals to apply for a program fostering community-based artistic development across the Mediterranean. This opportunity seeks 12 dedicated individuals for a comprehensive program including training, an artistic residency, and fieldwork in Larnaka, Cyprus, and Sfax, Tunisia. The program commences with a preparatory phase of webinars and workshops, focusing on capacity building in community-based artistic methodologies, project sustainability, and cultural design. This is followed by an intensive four-week residency period where participants will collaborate directly with local communities to co-create impactful artistic projects, supported by project partners. Residency dates are scheduled for Larnaka, Cyprus, from October 5 to November 1, 2026, and Sfax, Tunisia, from April 5 to May 2, 2027. Culminating works will be showcased at the Mahallart Festival in Larnaka and the Hors-Lits Festival in Sfax, both recognized for their focus on art and community. Applicants must be artists or cultural professionals aged 18 or above, legal residents of countries eligible under the Creative Europe Programme. Ideal candidates will demonstrate active engagement in community-based or socially engaged artistic practices across various disciplines, including visual arts, performing arts, interdisciplinary approaches, and public space interventions. Selected participants will receive comprehensive support, encompassing travel expenses, accommodation, an artistic fee, dedicated mentorship, and access to an international network of peers and professionals. The application deadline is June 5, 2026.
