Description:The dance ensemble at the State Theater of Braunschweig, under the direction of Gregor Zöllig, is dedicated to contemporary dance. The interplay of interdisciplinary artist collectives, international guests, and works by chief choreographer Gregor Zöllig forms the starting point and foundation of the diverse program.Gregor Zöllig continually develops his artistic dance language in collaboration with the ensemble, shaped by strong personalities, and with cross-disciplinary partners. His dance theater serves as a laboratory for social imagination, in which he searches for his own form of expression and translates socially critical forms and narratives into movement. Guest choreographers such as Stijn Celis, Guy Nader, Maria Campos, Sita Ostheimer, Ihsan Rustem, Guy Weizmann, Roni Haver, Jasmin Vardimon, Andonis Foniadakis, and Dunja Jocić introduce audiences to the diversity of different dance languages. A sustainable educational program and the development of a dance repertoire for children and youth bring dance as an art form closer to a young audience. The Dance Theater of Braunschweig is seeking dancers for the season 2026/2027 starting on the 6th August 2026. Interested dancers should have a strong contemporary technique as well as knowledge of classical ballet and be confident with improvisation. Both full-season and fixed term contracts are offered. Requirements: We are seeking versatile and expressive dancers with a strong foundation in classical technique (ballet) and a refined contemporary approach to movement. Our work values authentic artistry, individuality, and collaboration — we are looking for performers who bring both precision and personality to the creative process and who embody strength, curiosity, and emotional honesty in their movement. Requirements: Solid training in classical ballet and contemporary dance. Strong technical ability, with sensitivity to dynamics, musicality, and spatial awareness. Confidence in improvisation and co-creation within a collaborative environment. Willingness to experiment, take creative risks, and contribute to the artistic development of new work. Professional experience performing or creating in contemporary dance settings is an asset.
