Audition Notice- Looking for Female Contemporary Circus Acts and unusual female/male compere/comedian/host (UK)

Circus Monti run by Tony Hopkins Entertainment are looking for two UK based female contemporary circus artists with their own acts or a female/male duo to join it 2020 UK tour ( April 20th- Oct)

We are also looking for an experienced female or male host/ compere /comedienne to link the acts and create an overall thematic style for the performance

This is part of ACE funded circus pathways project which is a research project aimed at cross fertilization between contemporary and classic circus. This year Circus Montini is giving two contemporary acts and a compere the chance to tour, with a view to adapting current format and creating a more contemporary style/feel to its performance. Research, training and rehearsals to develop and modernise the show will part of the opportunity. If you ever wanted to try touring with a traditional circus now is your chance.

We are looking for two separate unique and contemporary acts 6-8mins long that are UK based. We are recruiting either two female solo artists or a solo and a duo. Female/male duos will also be considered. Artists with more than one act and a willingness to work in an ensemble will be favoured. All artists will take part in beginning and end Charivari.

Skills considered: Low wire, aerial on own self standing rig, contortion, acrobatic duo or other unusual variety circus acts. Own rigging must be provided.

Auditions will take place in the big top at Peel Park, Bradford on 19th March

Additional info

• Accommodation (caravan) can be provided, gas, water and electricity provided,

• Fees negotiable depending on experience starting from £300 pppw.

• Average 1 day off a week. Up to 12 performances a week, occasional workshops, rehearsals working to modernise show with a contemporary director will take place alongside tour on non-show days.

• Other duties include helping with fit up and install big top in line with abilities, occasional media duties/interviews
