Description:Shenanigans is looking for a new cast. We are looking for 2 performers of any gender to participate and perform a rework of our show 'Shenanigans'.What? We are looking for two performers of any gender to participate in a reworking of an existing performance called Shenanigans. Performing the rework of Shenanigans inside Belgium (school shows + family shows) with the possibility of performing internationally when opportunities arise. A platform for (young) artists to gain experience in a circus company as a creator and performer without having to worry about the logistics of running a circus company. A guided touring experience in Belgium. When? Touring primarily in Belgium (school shows and family shows) starting in October 2026 until at least May 2027 (dates will be known and communicated as soon as they are known but latest by March 2026) with the possibility of performances internationally. Audition is being held during January 2026 (22.01.26-23.01.26) in Budatoren, Kortrijk on the 22nd and 23rd of January, in collaboration with PERPLX. Address: Korte Kapucijnenstraat 1, 8500 Kortrijk The residencies are held in Belgium (location TBD) during September 2026 (07.09.26-11.09.26 & 14.09.26-18.09.26). For who? Circus artists of any gender in any stage of their career who have a strong understanding and skill set in object manipulation/juggling. Qualities we are looking for? - Have a playful approach on stage - Strong skill set on improvising on stage with objects - Previous experiences or desire to learn to work with improvising on stage together with a partner - Identifies with the themes of Shenanigans - Is not afraid of performing school shows early in the morning Non negotiables? Due to the nature of the touring schedule it's important to either be based in Belgium or have a possibility to stay in Belgium at own cost during the touring period. The school performances in Belgium during the tour are typically at 10:15 and 13:30 and involve setting up before the show (sometimes the set up is the day before). What is Jam.Shenanigans? Jam.Shenanigans is a Belgian based contemporary circus company by Batist Van Baekel (BE) & Henri Kangas (FI) with the focus of creating performances for family audiences. The performances of Jam.Shenanigans are centred around object manipulation. Themes such as 'playfulness', 'healthy stupidity', 'curiosity', 'the inner child' and 'friendship' are a few of the many core values of the company. www.jamshenanigans.com www.instagram.com/jam.shenanigans Shenanigans Rework Jam.Shenanigans is looking to take their 1st creation Shenanigans back into creation with a new set of performers. Together as a team we want to revisit the themes of the project and make a new adapted version suited for the skills and expertise of the new cast. The core of the performance will stay the same, but scenes, props and transitions will be adapted together with the new performers. As the original performance stems from personal dreams and visions, the performance will be adapted to suite the personalities of the new performers. Description of the original performance Shenanigans: Shenanigans is an indoor circus performance for family audiences about the importance of playfulness, creativity and imagination throughout one’s whole lifetime. In Shenanigans, we follow the adventure of two characters going through a ritual to revive their inner children. Through the series of juggling events, the characters playfully explore their relation to each other and their inner children. Ordinary toys, familiar to everyone, become the centerpiece of the performance. Through the manipulation of airplanes, toy tracks and an inflatable swimming pool, the performers invite the audience on a journey to reminisce about their own relationships to their inner children. Shenanigans is an interactive performance in which the performers share their own childhood dreams in the hopes of inspiring people young and old to never let go of theirs.
