Description:Job Description / DutiesSummary The Lead Technician is an experienced AV technician that is responsible for the setup, operation, and dismantle of events in a technically correct and efficient manner that ensures the client’s vision is realized, with a focus on the lighting elements of productions. Acting as a lead onsite, this individual is responsible for the seamless execution of audiovisual functions. The Lead Technician is also responsible for reviewing all event information with the Operations Manager or Production Manager prior to the event, and providing first class service and attitude to all clients, venue teams and guests throughout the event execution process. Job Duties Load in, setup, operation, dismantle and load out of audio-visual elements in a technically correct and efficient manner Be a key team member leading in the execution of live event lighting Collaborate with members of the Production team to create signal flow diagrams, fixture patch documentation and on-site plans as required Read and review equipment manifests and event related documents Provide support and training as required on-site to other members of the production team Complete inspection forms and daily reports as required Comply with company, industry, and legislative health & safety policies, procedures, standards, and best practices Relay critical information from the jobsite back to the office Maintain professional conduct and appearance at all times Provide proactive and solutions oriented approach to client engagement Lead crews as an on-site technical lead for overall event success Other duties as required Qualifications / Required Skills Requirements High school diploma or equivalent is required. Post-secondary education in event production, technical production, music production, or equivalent training is preferred 2-5 years of audio-visual experience; specifically Experience using Chamsys QuickQ20 and GrandMA3 lighting consoles (or equivalent) Experience working with wireless lighting fixtures (Astera, Chauvet) Proficiency with the use of computer hardware, software, and programs, including the Internet, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite Proficient in oral and written communication in English Ability to adapt to new technology Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands Ability to work individually as well as part of a team High level of integrity and work ethic Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs Experience working in a hotel and/or event venue environment is an asset Working at heights and MEWP certification are an asset Experience with LED Walls and Processing (familiarity with Novastar products preferred) is an asset Experience rigging is an asset Experience with Audio and Video systems is an asset Experience with PowerPoint, Keynote and Google Slides is an asset Experience with Crestron and QSYS systems is an asset Experience using Theatrixx LED Totems is an asset Knowledge of current workplace health & safety regulations, fire & building codes, and AODA regulations in relation to the live entertainment industry is an asset Additional Information Work Conditions Extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, and other physically demanding conditions Medium to high levels of stress and pressure Flexible and additional hours including evenings and weekends Attendance and participation in company issued training required Exposure to loud noises Exposure to various weather conditions Engagement in a healthy work-life balance Benefits 3 weeks paid vacation Employer paid group benefits - health, dental, vision, medical, paramedical services Paid Bereavement Leave Paid Sick Days Professional development opportunities Company social activities Salary: $27.50 - $30.00 Contact Information [email protected] Apply via website: https://epiqvision.bamboohr.com/careers/36 Employer Profile Employer Profile EPiQVision is your Event Technology partner offering customizable and scalable solutions.
