Do you love working in theatre, keep an overview even in complex production processes, and know how to lead and motivate people? Then become part of our team! We are looking for a dedicated Stage Management professional who brings together artistic processes organizationally, actively shapes communication, and ensures the smooth running of rehearsals and performances with foresight.

Your Responsibilities
• Professional and disciplinary leadership as well as motivation of the Stage Management department
• Scheduling and staff planning
• Onboarding of new employees and handover of all relevant production information
• Active support of the entire production process starting from the White Card Meeting
• Coordination and communication of changes, workflows, and cross-departmental topics
• Taking on and covering all stage management duties, including rehearsal, caller, and floater roles
• Ensuring compliance with working time, health, and safety regulations

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of professional experience as a caller / stage manager / production stage manager in theatre or live events
• Solid technical understanding
• Good command of English and German
• Ability to read musical scores confidently
• Strong organizational skills, leadership ability, and communication skills
• Structured, solution-oriented working style and high resilience
• Team spirit and enthusiasm for working in a creative environment
• Willingness to work Sundays, public holidays, and night shifts

Additional Information:

The Volksoper Vienna is Vienna’s major venue for operetta, opera, musical theatre, and ballet. The Volksoper employs 530 staff members and produces up to 10 new productions each year. Each season, 30 different music theatre productions are performed over 300 evenings and attended by more than 300,000 audience members.
