The Marlowe Theatre is seeking an experienced theatrical sound professional to run the sound department of its upcoming production of https://marlowetheatre.com/shows/the-party-girls/ - The Party Girls - a new play by Amy Rosenthal, directed by Richard Beecham.
The Head of Sound will work with the Company Stage Manager, Production Manager, alongside the rest of the technical team and the cast and creatives, to facilitate all sound requirements of The Party Girls tour, September-October 2025.

£850 per week plus travel, subsistence and touring allowance.

Job Requirements
Extensive operational experience of theatrical sound
Experience as a Head or Deputy Head of Sound
Experience as a sound operator on a piece of new work
Touring experience
Excellent technical knowledge and skills, specifically confidence in programming with DiGiCo T software
Experience in scheduling and managing a department
Basic knowledge of equipment rigging, suspension and safety
A calm and practical approach to technical troubleshooting
Knowledge of current applicable health and safety legislation
The ability to work well with others and to work calmly under pressure
Good communication and organisational skills
The ability to work under minimal supervision and to adapt work in accordance with performance requirements
The ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Job Responsibilities
To be responsible for the Sound department, including managing the Sound No. 2 and ensuring they are scheduled appropriately
To work with the Production Manager, Sound Designer, Production Sound Engineer and sound team to coordinate the hire and preparation of equipment, venue supplies and running consumables, in tech and throughout the tour
To operate the production's sound control system, mix the show and support with all sound department system maintenance throughout technical rehearsals and performances
To ensure the smooth running of the production, including running daily system checks and maintenance sessions as required
To operate and maintain the sound equipment, including running sound checks and reporting any issues back to the Production Manager
To liaise directly with the Sound Designer, Production Manager, Company Stage Manager, members of the creative team and other production departments throughout the production period
