A production-independent research grant for dance, choreography and performance artists, with a focus on process-oriented methods and exploratory practice. One call is for emerging artists from North Rhine-Westphalia and a second call is for international choreographers and dance artists from abroad.
The grant is 5,000 EUR per residency for 1–2 people: a two-week residency in Wuppertal or Essen from April 26 to May 10, 2027, followed by participation in a dance festival from May 12–23, 2027. Travel costs are covered as calculated, accommodation costs are covered and help with finding lodging is provided, with venue resources, dramaturgical advice and organisational support included. A documentation budget is available by agreement.
