Permanent/Full-Time position
Our partner, Grupo Vidanta, the leading developer and operator of world-class vacation destinations, luxury resort hotel brands, golf courses, theme parks, and spectacular entertainment centers in Mexico and Latin America, is currently offering career opportunities in Nuevo Nayarit-Vallarta for its second Cirque du Soleil resident show to include a dining experience as part of the performance.

YOUR MISSION
Reporting to the Artistic Director, the General Stage Manager is responsible to maintain the daily performance, rehearsal, and training operations of the show. While playing a supervisory role with his/her team of stage managers, the General Stage Manager works hand in hand with the Artistic Director (AD), being the intrinsic link with him/her for orchestrating each daily performance and related activities.
Responsibilities:
· Call the show;
· Prepare, coordinate, and manage the weekly and long-term plans for artistic operations including training and staging rehearsals;
· Manage the preparation of the daily show line up and coordinate the changes within the show;
· Manage the preparation of show, training and staging reports;
· Prepare and update the stage management call book;
· Manage backstage areas during performances, if needed;
· Provide support to the AD regarding the communication with all performers to ensure that they are familiar with and up to date on the show content and the specifics of their roles and cues, in order tomaintain high-quality performances;
· Assist the AD in linking and doing regular follow-up with coaches, stage management and the technical support team;
· When requested, implement and follow up on artistic, acrobatic and technical adjustments, modifications and recommendations to various components of the show;
· Work with the Operations Director, coordinating technical and artistic resources for the show;
· Participate in weekly Technical Department Head meetings, as well as artistic meetings;
· Ensure that safety standards are implemented and adhered to;
· Supervise the creation and maintenance of emergency procedures and contingencies for the show and apply emergency measures during performances, as required;
· Supervise the video recording and archiving of each performance;
· Support the preparation and participation in media events (lead as required):
· Coordinating media events and liaising with Publicist and all other relevant artistic and technical departments;
· Represent the AD in His/her Absence.
· Rotate as Director on Duty on a weekly basis.
Responsibilities specific to management of artists:
· Organize the integration of new performers into the show, as well as performers returning to full duty after medical rehabilitation, including coordinating logistics of newcomers’ arrival, preparing integration plan and follow up;
· Support the AD and the stage management team in keeping artists’ Aurora documentation up to date in relation to conflicts, disciplinary meetings, lateness, etc..;
· Administer and communicate minor disciplinary procedures related to their department;
· Assist the AD in the management of other disciplinary issues, if needed.
Management responsibilities:
· Oversee the updating of all show, cast, music and artists’ attendance reports
· Participate in the selection of stage management staff and make recommendation to the AD;· Plan and ensure integration of all newly hired stage manager team, including the teaching and supervision of calling stage managers;
· Schedule and supervise the stage management staff;
· Assess the contribution of stage management staff and facilitate their professionaldevelopment in collaboration with functional experts.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
· Show calling experience and aerial act calling experience required
· Must have a college diploma or equivalent
· Must have a minimum of 6 years relevant experience;
· Fluency in English written and spoken;
· Knowledge of Spanish and/or other languages is an asset;
· Fluency of Microsoft Office is required;
· Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills;
· Multicultural experience an asset;
· Experience working on various large-scale productions is a plus;
· First Aide/CPR training an asset;
· Understanding and ability to navigate network applications;
· Ability to work in Mexico.
