Job Summary:
A qualified Fitness Manager can manage the fitness side of a studio and teach remarkable Basecamp workouts. As a Basecamp Fitness Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the success of a team of Basecamp coaches delivering pre-designed interval and resistance training workouts for up to 42 clients per session. This position requires a strong ability to communicate, coach, manage and lead. Effective fitness managers can expect to split their time between personally coaching classes, managing coaches, communicating with Basecamp members, and driving the business through retention and membership sales efforts.

Duties & Responsibilities
· Fitness managers can expect to spend at least a third of their time (approximately 15 classes per week) teaching pre-designed workouts in a group setting. This includes energizing and motivating clients throughout the sessions, modifying specific exercises to accommodate various skill levels and ensuring the safety of participants in regard to heart rate and exercise technique.
· Member of Studio Leadership Team and responsible for KPIs and studio success including growth targets for studio sales, revenue, EFT, new members, and class capacity utilization.
· Leading studio fitness team of 3-10 coaches and regularly performing live evaluations to reinforce standards and improve delivery/experience.
· Managing the studio’s class schedule to ensure scheduling optimization to build and maintain Basecamp class size.
· Providing Basecamp studio tours and membership sales presentations; personally contributing to studio sales targets by generating leads & selling new memberships.
· Handling all coach sub requests.
· Designing training to improve the knowledge base of Fitness coaches.
· Attending monthly fitness staff meetings and required educational presentations.
· Building Basecamp attendance and retaining current clientele – Fitness Managers are the studio retention experts in charge of all new member onboarding and outreach efforts including but not limited to studio newsletters, new member welcome calls, studio event promotions etc.
· Executing studio events and building external relationships with local businesses.
· Addressing and resolving member concerns when applicable.

Required Qualifications
Minimum Education & Knowledge
· High school diploma or General Education Degree required
· Bachelors or Associates degree in an exercise related field is highly preferred
· Must hold and maintain a current fitness certification from a Basecamp Fitness approved training program. Preferred certification (NCAA accredited fitness certifications) ACSM, ACE, AFAA, NASM, NCSF, NESTA, NETA, NSCA, PTAG, CI
· Must hold and maintain a current CPR & AED certification
· Note: Prior to hire, applicant must complete and pass the Basecamp Fitness Coaches Course and audition process.
Minimum Work Experience
· 2+ years of experience teaching groups or personal training in the fitness industry
· Sales experience preferred
· 1-2 years of management and leadership experience preferred
Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions
· Flexible to work day, evening and/or weekend hours based on studio needs
· Must be able to safely lift and move up to 50lbs
· While performing the duties of this job, employee is regularly required to use their hands, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.
Travel Requirement
· Must be able to travel by car up to 10% of the time
Reporting Structure
· This position reports directly to the Studio Manager
