Festival TREK seeks Rotterdam talent for Vroesenpark stage

Festival TREK

Netherlands Netherlands, Rotterdam
Posted on: Apr. 21, 2026

Description:

ROTTERDAM, 24 February 2026 – Festival TREK is looking for performers from the Rotterdam region to join its programme in Vroesenpark, where the travelling food festival returns from 7 to 10 May 2026. The organisers are inviting singer-songwriters, semi-acoustic bands, cabaret-style acts, and dance and theatre makers to apply for a slot.

If you have ever walked through Vroesenpark during a festival weekend and thought, “I could do this”, this is one of the clearer routes onto a Rotterdam stage. TREK says it has space beyond the main covered stage, including a more relaxed performance area and an intimate theatre tent.

A Rotterdam stage for regional acts
TREK describes itself as the Netherlands’ biggest travelling food festival, but it also builds a big part of its atmosphere around live entertainment. In Rotterdam, that means performances alongside the food trucks, in a setting that stays easy-going rather than formal theatre. The call is aimed at Rotterdam-area talent: singer-songwriters, (semi-)acoustic bands, cabaret and spoken performance, plus dance and theatre acts. Applications are handled via TREK’s own registration page.

What kind of slots are available
According to the organisers, the festival site includes a covered main stage, an extra space for varied acts in a more relaxed setting, and a theatre tent for smaller-scale performances. That mix is useful if your act is not built for a loud main-stage crowd, but still works brilliantly in a close audience setting. For bands, TREK uses a pass-the-hat scheme (hoge hoed-regeling), described as a form of street theatre where the audience decides what your performance is worth.

When Festival TREK is in Rotterdam
Festival TREK Rotterdam runs from Thursday 7 May to Sunday 10 May 2026 in Vroesenpark. Opening times listed for Rotterdam are: Thu–Fri 16:00–23:00, Sat 14:00–23:00, Sun 14:00–21:00. That gives organisers plenty of room to programme different styles throughout the day, from quieter early slots to more energetic evening moments when the park starts to feel like one big open-air restaurant.

How to apply
TREK is taking applications via its culture talent registration page here: https://www.festival-trek.nl/inschrijven-cultuur-talent/ The organisers say they are always looking for strong talent, and the easiest way to be considered is to submit your act through the form.

How to get there
Vroesenpark is in Rotterdam-Noord, right by Diergaarde Blijdorp, and it is one of the easiest festival parks to reach by bike from the city centre. If you are coming by public transport, Rotterdam Centraal is close enough for a short ride or a straightforward connection towards Blijdorp, then a short walk into the park. The festival weekend can get busy, so arriving by bike tends to be the smoothest option if you are carrying gear.
