Description:General information:Founded in 1995, the École de cirque de Québec, a non-profit organization, has the mission of promoting circus arts and stimulating the emergence of a new generation of artists. Located since January 2003 in the former Saint-Esprit church in Limoilou, the School is a place for recreational activities, professional training, research and creation in circus arts. Job description : Under the authority of the general management, the director of the professional training program assumes the management of the training service. Main functions: Planning and organization • Coordinate and supervise all the department’s activities (non-exhaustive list): • Management of teacher recruitment • Ensure the smooth running of student auditions and registrations • Establish the annual calendar of service activities • Ensure the smooth running of department events (courses, public presentations, graduations, special activities) • Ensure coordination between training activities and the entire organization • When required by the CEGEP Limoilou calendar, undertake the revision of the DEC program of the Circus School in collaboration with the coordinators • Ensure the revision of the DEE, preparatory and secondary study circus program • Participate, when necessary, in various School development projects • Collaborate in managing the department's budget and ensure that it is respected Control and direction • Annually evaluate training content in collaboration with coordinators • Plan teacher development activities, in collaboration with the coordinators • Supervise the student evaluation process • Ensure a good working environment for all employees in the department • Participate in meetings of the School’s management committee • Attend meetings of the School’s Board of Directors upon request Representation • Collaborate with the General Management to represent the School in circus circles at the level local, provincial, national and international • Monitor agreements with partner schools (Cardinal-Roy, Lévis, CÉGEP, etc.) • Maintain links with the circus community, including schools, companies, related organizations and individual artists • Participate in the promotion of the professional training program outside the School Human resources management • Supervise employees (coordinators, administrators, teachers) under his/her responsibility in promoting their development and autonomy • Supervise the hiring of employees under his responsibility (job offer, interview and selection of candidates) • Coordinate, supervise and evaluate employees under his responsibility • Participate in the selection of directors for the annual shows • See to the distribution of tasks and responsibilities of the members of the service teams • Schedule follow-up meetings with employees • Hire circus arts teachers and set their salary rate annually in collaboration with general management Requirements: • College or university studies related to the position • Good knowledge of the circus environment • Knowledge of pedagogy in general and circus arts in particular • Excellent oral and written communication in French and English • Good knowledge of common office software • Be available for schedules that may vary from time to time (shows, travel, performances, etc.) Required skills: • Communication skills • Administrative management skills • Ability to supervise multiple activities • Skills in coaching and supporting teams • Conflict management skills • Interpersonal skills Working conditions: • Full time 35 hours/week • Annual salary of $81,000 If you are interested in the position, please send your resume by email to Sonia Lessard, Assistant Director, at [email protected] before Feb 6, 2025.
