We are looking for an experienced and organised Company Stage Manager to join us for our upcoming production of 'Equus'. Directed by Lindsay Posner.
Job Description
The Deputy Stage Manager will act as a point of communication between the creative team, cast, crew and production staff, ensuring the director's vision is effectively executed during every performance - working under the Company Stage Manager and alongside the Assistant Stage Manager. The Deputy Stage Manager will be positioned at the sound & lighting desk during the performances and will be 'on book', going through and actioning all cues and technical needs so the show runs smoothly. The successful candidate must be available for: REHEARSALS (Monday 30th March - Tuesday 5th May), TECH (Wednesday 6th May - Friday 8th May), FIRST PERFORMANCE (Friday 8th - eve), PRESS NIGHT (Monday 18th May), FINAL PERFORMANCE (Saturday 4th July). Salary will be £800pw Weekly working hours in line with the UK Theatres / Equity agreement. Weekly working hours in line with the UK Theatres / Equity agreement
Job Requirements
Prior experience as a DSM or in a cue-calling role, Strong cue calling skills and theatrical knowledge, Excellent organization and attention to detail, Calm, focused decision-making under pressure, Clear and confident verbal communication, Ability to maintain a detailed prompt book, Knowledge of lighting, sound, and stage operations, Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, Problem solving and technical skills around theatre lights and sound.
Job Responsibilities
Maintain and update the prompt book with cues, blocking, and notes, Call all technical cues accurately during rehearsals and performances, Attend all required rehearsals, techs, and performances, Take rehearsal notes and distribute daily reports, Track script, blocking, and cue changes, Communicate clearly with CSM, ASMs, and technical departments, Maintain performance consistency after opening, Monitor performances and respond to live issues, Participate in production meetings as required, Problem solve minor light and sound issues with the Production Manager and CSM.
