An acclaimed cultural dance ensemble is expanding its roster, seeking talented contemporary and folk dancers (male, female, or non-gender conforming) for upcoming performances and touring engagements. While experience in both contemporary and folk styles is a plus, it is not a prerequisite. This opportunity offers competitive compensation: $150 for performance days on tour, supplemented by an additional $40 per diem. Rehearsals are compensated at $20 per hour, all of which will take place in New York City. Auditions are scheduled for Saturday, August 15th, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Mark Morris Dance Center, Studio F, located in New York, NY. To pre-register, please submit your headshot and/or danceshots along with your resume. In your email, kindly specify whether your primary discipline is folk or contemporary dance. If contemporary, please indicate if you possess advanced pointe experience; however, pointe experience is not a requirement for consideration. Please note: a warm-up will not be provided on the audition day. Dancers are expected to arrive warmed up and prepared to learn repertoire promptly at 3:00 PM. Remember to bring your headshot, resume, and any folk, character, or tap shoes you may own (these are optional). If you have experience with faldeo (skirtwork), please also bring a skirt.
