Description:Job DescriptionPeriod: ASAP - 1st December Fee: £4,500 (+ £9k materials budget) Location: The Roses, Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, GL20 5NX Job Description This document sits along an agreement that includes details of an agreed budget and dates of employment. No work should start till first payment is received. The following work will then be undertaken by the Costume Designer and Maker: Read and analyse script. Paper scripts provided by producers when requested in a timely fashion. Use the script to influence research and designs for the production. Create initial costume ideas for discussion with Director and Producers and make any amendments required. Develop preliminary costume design in addition to wigs and jewellery for presentation to the creative and production team. Consider the use of sustainable practices and materials where appropriate. The production manager and producer should make the designer aware of any changes required in good time for changes to be made. Select appropriate costumes from stock, rental or other resources and coordinate their adaptation for the Production. Request a minimum of three quotes from any external hire or stockist companies. Attend rehearsals where appropriate and possible to communicate with the production manager and be informed of any relevant and important updates in the production, specifically regarding quick changes. Make enquiries and hire a Dresser/Costume Assistant for the handover of wardrobe responsibility with all paperwork related to the production from Opening Night until Closing Night. (This role can be extended to the Costume Designer and Maker in a new agreement). Attend all relevant costume fittings agreed in conjunction with the production manager or producers within the production schedule. Attend the Producers run, technical and dress rehearsals plus opening night.
