The Jean-Luc Lagardère Foundation is launching its call for applications for the Contemporary Music Musician Grant 2026. Endowed with €15,000, this aid supports a young artist or group wishing to develop an album project in the field of contemporary music.

This grant aims to support the creation and production of an album, as well as actions related to its release: creation of music videos, stage development, distribution or promotion strategy. Over the years, the grant has notably supported artists such as Fils Cara, Charles Kieny, Claire Days, Marco Luparia or eat-girls.

Application deadline: June 14, 2026

Grant Objective
The Musician Grant aims to support musical creation and the development of artistic projects in the field of contemporary music. The project presented must concern the production of an album (minimum 10 tracks or 40 minutes). The release of this album must be planned from January 2027 onwards.

Financial aid can notably be used to finance:
• album production
• music video creation
• stage or scenographic development
• promotion and distribution actions

Eligibility Conditions
To apply, artists must notably:
• Be 30 years old maximum on December 31, 2026
• Be French-speaking (music can be sung in another language)
• Have already released an album or mini-album via a professional distributor
• Have signed a contract with a label, booking agent, publisher or independent distributor
• Be registered or in the process of registering with Sacem
• Present an unreleased album project

Applications are open to solo artists as well as groups.

Releases distributed only via aggregators (TuneCore, DistroKid, etc.) or platforms like SoundCloud or YouTube do not allow application.

Selection
The selection takes place in two stages:
• Pre-selection based on application file by the Foundation
• Oral presentation of the project before a jury of culture and media professionals

The jury will meet between September and October 2026 to designate the laureate. Only one grant will be awarded.

"Engaged Look" Grant
Artistic projects dealing with environmental, social or societal themes may also be considered for the "Engaged Look" Grant, endowed with €10,000.

How to apply
The application file must be completed online and include notably:
• a presentation of the artist(s)
• a detailed description of the artistic project
• a budget and a financing plan
• a marketing and distribution plan
• listening links and possibly live capture
• a presentation of the professional partner (label, booking agent, publisher or distributor)
