Description:Job Overview:Boston Children's Circus is a four-week summer program aimed at allowing children ages 8-12 to experience life as a circus performer! All day, students work on skills like juggling, aerials, unicycling, stilts, and more. This position is looking for coaches with experience teaching in at least one of these skills: Peg Stilts Tumbling/ground acrobatics Aerial silks, lyra, or trapeze Clowning Responsibilities: - Assisting with drop-off procedures for campers - Assisting with morning warm-ups - Working on age-appropriate skills with groups of campers for 20-30 minute blocks at a time - Properly spotting and maintaining safety of campers - Providing a sense of fun and joy for the campers, including the potential to show off performance skills Requirements: - Previous experience in any of the above circus skills with a preference for coaches who are experienced teaching the age groups listed - Ability to demonstrate clear, strong communication and directions for students - Willingness to take feedback and to learn from fellow staff/coaches Preferences: -Ability to work every weekday 7/22-8/16 (some flexibility can be allowed) - Background in coaching circus specifically - Depending on coaching position, some may require ability to spot campers safely. This means being able to safely spot a child of 50lbs+ - An optimistic attitude and excitement to share your love of circus!
