I’m looking to work with two different directors as part of my Arts Council England DYCP exploration:
CONTEMPORARY CIRCUS DIRECTOR
- Female director who is based in the UK/Europe who creates contemporary circus work
- The goal is to create a 15-20 minute piece to show at work in progress showing at Jackson’s lane 6 & 7 December 2021.
- Working together between 8-10 weeks for 90 minutes 2x per week over zoom but dates for working can be agreed over October & November, these will likely be online however there may be some opportunities to work in person
Fee: £1200
VARIETÉ DIRECTOR
- UK/ European based varieté director/movement director (ideally with connections in Germany)
- The goal is to create a 5 minute piece that could be entered into international showcases and be considered for high level cabaret/varieté work
-Working together between 4-6 weeks for 90 minutes 2x per week over zoom. Dates can be agreed over October & November, these will be online only
Fee: £900
CONCEPT:
The work will be different interpretations of my story being a Neurodiverse Jewish woman with invisible disabilities. This also touches on the incredible story of my grandmother escaping right before the Holocaust and finding strength from her through the connection of the wild woman archetype.
This piece will touch on themes of oppression, freedom, feminism, and being unapologetic in owning the wild inside. It’s about finding the strength that has been lost, using the wild woman archetype, the powerful women in my family, finding power from my disabilities and from parts within myself as a catalyst that speaks to the unbreakable nature of women.
The piece would utilise contortion on my spinning cube, ground contortion, dance, physical theatre as well as voice overs, poetry, and singing.
