The Clinamen company created in Sarthe in 2011 carries the projects of Gaëlle Guéranger, author, choreographer, performer, and that of L'ÉBAUCHE, Aire de Création Artistique, a place of life, work, residencies, and public openings, located in the heart of the village of Jupilles, on the edge of the Bercé national forest, since 2017. Born from the desire to rethink the capacity of artists to act, to redesign the ways of producing works, and to present them, the company deploys with L'Ébauche an approach to art in relation to non-dedicated spaces, public space, landscapes, the forest, geography and its history, and attempts to broaden ways of doing, creating, and inhabiting.
With workspaces including a 125m2 workshop adapted to bodywork, and a dedicated outdoor space, the company is committed to dance and associated practices, to choreographic and transdisciplinary creation. More info: https://lebauche.gaellegueranger.com/
Since 2019, the team has been organizing one-off residencies and L'Assemblage, a landscape art festival in September. More info: https://lassemblage.gaellegueranger.com/
Affected ourselves by the difficulties affecting the entire artistic sector, in 2025 we are starting a new way of designing residencies and L'Assemblage, and we propose to imagine a common path with another company, collective, association, or creative factory that would be active in another territory and with which we could imagine a reciprocal exchange in residency and diffusion.
Framework of the residency at L'Ébauche:
● A residency of 1 to 2 weeks from mid-September 2025 (calendar to be defined) coupled with a broadcast of the creation at L'Assemblage the following year in 2026.
● The team hosted will be made up of 4 people maximum.
● A financial contribution will be defined to help with accommodation costs, meals, and team salaries.
● The 125m2 heated rehearsal studio will be made available, including a kitchen, toilets, a stage with floor and dance mat, a sound system, as well as a dedicated green space enclosed by walls.
● Technical support and a connection with residents and resource people can be considered.
● A residency exit or a time to meet with the residents and public of L'Ébauche will be imagined together.
Artistic field:
● Choreographic and transdisciplinary proposal that can be performed outdoors in a meadow, a barn or a forest.
● Creation, revival of a piece, performance...
Technical conditions:
● Creation presented on the ground (meadow, barn, forest)
● Be in a technical sobriety
● Creation presented in natural light
● Light technical sheet - no structures, scenographic elements or imposing decorations
● No hanging possible in trees
Framework of the cross-distribution:
● In return, the team welcomed in residence in 2025 and programmed at L'Assemblage in 2026 undertakes to distribute in its own territory of origin, whether within a place or a festival of its own or at a partner, an artistic project supported and submitted by L'Ébauche.
● Cross-distribution taking place in 2026 or 2027.
● Contractual framework: transfer.
● Professional framework of reception, both logistical and in terms of communication or contractualization.
