The Circus Arts Conservatory is looking for someone to fill the role of - Audio Visual Technical Manager
This is a fulltime year round position based in Sarasota Florida.
Preferred Qualifications & Characteristics
● Knowledge of ETC Eos lighting control systems
● Knowledge of moving light repair, specifically Martin & Varilite lines
● Comfortable working at height of about 35’ in a genie lift
● Ability to lift lights and equipment in excess of 90 lbs, alone or with a partner
● Knowledge of Qlab 4 (Audio & Video)
● Knowledge of networking between Qlab and ETC lighting systems over OSC
● Flexibility during high stress events and ability to meet changing needs on tight
deadlines
● Ability to be organized and pay attention to detail, multi-task, and maintain a positive
attitude
● Working knowledge of lighting equipment and practices, audio equipment and practices,
rigging equipment and safety, and troubleshooting and equipment maintenance skills
● Proficiency in setting up, operating, and troubleshooting analog and digital Sound
Boards, wireless microphones, speaker systems, and Clear-Com systems
● Customer service orientation and interpersonal skills
● Knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot led screen hardware and software
Duties & Responsibilities
● Coordinate with CAC creative team for various shows and the lighting, audio, and video
needs of each show
● Work with external vendors and event planners to prepare and design different types of
arena rentals (concerts, galas, parties, banquets, theatre shows)
● Design and run small scale shows alone and run and coordinate design with outside
designers for large scale shows
● Mix live microphones and run sound cue playback for shows and events
● Keep inventory of and repair moving lights
● Assist with setup of lighting, sound, and video systems in the Big Top for Circus
Sarasota
● Coordinate online video conferencing needs for various meetings and presentations
● Lead and instruct others in the lighting and sound decoration of parade floats
● Set up and run portable sound and lighting rigs for small road show performances
