Description:

The Palace Theatres, a fast-paced, dynamic regional theatre company located in Manchester, NH is seeking eager and qualified audio engineers to work across our multiple performance spaces. Our audio engineers are responsible for loading in, setting up, operating, tearing down, and loading out all audio-related elements of Palace Theatres' productions.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

-Two or more years' experience in technical theatre, stagecraft, entertainment technology/design, or related field preferred.

-At minimum, some experience working in a theatre or performing arts space is required.

Skills and Abilities Desired:

-Experience in a professional theatre setting strongly preferred

-Demonstrated experience with and knowledge of digital audio consoles (especially Allen + Heath SQ-series consoles)

-Experience mixing for musical theatre strongly preferred

-Ability and willingness to supervise/lead a small team with various projects

-Willingness to assist other departments as needed

-Proficiency using various hand and power tools as needed

-Excellent organizational and communication skills


Physical Demands/Work Environment:

-Wide range of physical movements including sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting, etc. in the performance of daily activities

-Ability to lift, drag, and/or push materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis

-Moderate exposure to loud noises, bright lights, moving theatrical elements, etc. as well as the potential for electrical shock and burn hazards

-Ability to work on ladders, mechanical lifts, and/or in high places required


This is a 1099 independent contractor position, initially short-term but with potential for growth to a full-time position. Housing is available for non-local applicants, for 1099 contracts.
