On the Spot Theatre Company is currently seeking an assistant stage manager for the last two weeks of rehearsal and the run of a new play in the spring. Rehearsals will be on the north side of Chicago, two evening nights and weekend days. The show will be at the Berger Park Coach House Theatre at Granville and Sheridan in Chicago.
The job would begin week of April 13th
Tech will be in evenings all weekday evenings starting Monday night April 27th. Tech will not go past ten p.m. The show will have previews that weekend, but no Sunday shows at all during the run
The run will continue for five more weeks with shows on Friday evenings, and Sat matinee and evening shows. The last weekend there will also be a Thursday evening show with the very last show on Saturday evening June 6th
Responsibilities would include providing support during rehearsals in staying on book and taking line notes in last two weeks of rehearsal. Then during shows the stage manager would be working back stage to assist with transitions.
The Assistant stage manager would also serve as a back up for running lights and sound so would receive some practice to fill in as a sub if needed to run the board and sound.
We are producing a new play that runs about an hour and forty minutes. Shows in evenings start at seven and matinees on Saturdays at two or two thirty.
