Drama Desk Award-winning TADA! Youth Theater actively seeks an Assistant Stage Manager for its upcoming 2025-2026 Season.
TADA! Youth Theater is committed to producing high quality original musical productions for family audiences. We are also committed to building and fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce that is representative of our vastly diverse Resident Youth Ensemble of TADA! (RYET) Program. An ideal candidate will have previous stage management experience working on musicals and working with young people and teens. Must be knowledgeable, patient, fun, organized, detail-oriented, disciplined, proactive, and an excellent communicator and collaborator with young people and adults. Cast members, ages 8-18, come from the five boroughs as well as NJ and are from various racial, economic and cultural backgrounds and will have a variety of theatrical experience. Cast sizes vary per show and typically between 20-34.
COMPENSATION: and is paid twice a month on the 15th and 30th beginning October 15th, $450/week for 40.5 Weeks, $18,225 total.
COMMITMENT: This is a part-time position for the 2025-2026 season that reports to the Associate Director of the RYET Program/Resident Production Stage Manager from October 1, 2025 through July 31, 2026 (40.5 weeks), Tuesday-Saturday OR Wednesday-Sunday depending on programming, 20-25 hours per week (except tech). Off December 21st-27th and March 24th-April 4th. Rehearsals are typically Wednesday/Thursday 3:00-7:30pm; Fridays 3:00-8:30pm, Saturdays 1:00-6:30pm. Performances are on Fridays at 7pm, Saturdays/Sundays 2pm + 4:30pm, and one Weekday of 2 matinee performances TBD.
-Onboarding/Prep: October 1st-4th
-Fall Production, October 5th-December 14th: Tech November 14th-23rd, Performances November 22nd-December 14th
-Winter Production, January 3rd-March 22nd, 2026: Tech February 21st-28th, Performances February 28th-March 22nd
-Spring Gala, April 8th-27th, 2026: Event April 27th
-Summer Production, May 15th + 16th, May 27th-July 31st, 2026: Tech July 7th-11th, Performances July 11th31st
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
-General setup and breakdown of rehearsal space
-Taking attendance and contacting late cast members
-Managing/organizing the backstage space
-Supervising the cast during rehearsals and backstage during performances
-Tracking blocking, choreography formations, props, etc
-Assisting the PSM with report/minutes writing and distribution
-General administrative tasks to support the Resident Youth Ensemble of TADA! (RYET) Department
