Duties
Asst. Lighting Supervisor will work alongside the Master Electrician in overseeing all lighting-related aspects under TrentonPremieres, TrentonPresents and TrentonMakes at the Mill Hill Playhouse. Duties vary by production, but generally include the following:
Maintenance and cataloguing of lighting inventory
Collaborate with the Lighting Designer & Master Electrician to interpret and realize the lighting design for TrentonPremiere Productions
Reviewing light plots, paperwork, cue lists, and technical requirements with Master Electrician for TrentonPremiere Productions
Collaborate with Lead Producer on light plot and technical requirements for TrentonPresents
Assisting with hang, focus, patch, strike and load-out of all lighting equipment
Ensuring fixtures, cables, dimmers, and control systems are installed correctly and safely
Troubleshooting lighting and electrical issues
Serving as the main point of contact between lighting and other departments when Master Electrician is not available
Ensuring equipment is properly stored or returned
Key Skills & Qualifications
Minimum two (2) years of technical theatre lighting experience in settings ranging from high school, college, community theatre, or professional venues
Experience hanging, circuiting, focusing, and maintaining theatrical lighting instruments
Familiarity with ETC lighting control systems, specifically the ETC Element / Element Express 20/48 lighting console
Ability to read and interpret light plots, channel hookups, and other lighting paperwork
Working knowledge of DMX control systems, dimmers, LED fixtures, and conventional lighting equipment
Experience assisting with load-in, focus calls, programming sessions, and strike
Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical or equipment issues
Ability to safely work on ladders, lifts, and overhead rigging systems
Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with designers, electricians, and production staff
Understanding of basic theatrical safety practices and OSHA-compliant work habits
