Description:Job DescriptionWhat We’re Looking For Baylor University is seeking an Assistant Costume Shop Manager to support the mission and vision of the Department of Theatre Arts. This position: Serves as part of the costume construction team (first hand) for a 6-show season. Assists the Shop Manager in costume rentals and maintenance of costume stock spaces. Supervises student stitchers and supports wardrobe crews through tech and performances. Ideal candidates will have experience running wardrobe; hair and makeup experience is a plus. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree At least 1 year of relevant work experience Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Fine Arts or a related field 3 years of relevant work experience A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of the above. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. What You Will Do Assist Costume Shop Manager with assigned tasks Prepare show paperwork and procedural documents Take measurements and complete alterations with minimal supervision Maintain and update fitting notes and communicate progress Manage stock as a rental facility for student projects Guide students in costume-related skills and shop projects Transport costumes to and from the dry cleaner Train student wardrobe crew members with Shop Manager Attend tech rehearsals to manage and instruct the student wardrobe team Maintain costume spaces (shop, stock, dressing rooms, laundry, makeup lab) with student help Be on-call for weekend maintenance during show runs Perform additional duties as needed to support Baylor’s mission Comply with university policies Maintain regular and punctual attendance What You Can Expect As part of the Baylor family, eligible employees enjoy: Medical, dental, and vision insurance Generous time off Tuition remission Outstanding automatic retirement contributions A vibrant and engaging campus environment Salary Range: Budgeted salary: $20.00 per hour Full range: $17.22 – $28.41 per hour Compensation decisions consider factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, internal equity, and organizational needs.
