An esteemed arts organization is launching an innovative residency program designed for Asian American choreographers. This open call initiative aims to empower AANHPI artists by offering a crucial platform to develop new ballet works with professional dancers, specifically encouraging projects that feature all AANHPI casts. This distinctive program welcomes Asian American choreographers at all career stages; prior presentation experience is not a prerequisite, and there are no restrictions based on age or geographical location. Four selected artists will receive a $1,000 stipend and participate in a two-week intensive residency, which includes 15 hours of dedicated rehearsal time. Participants will also have the opportunity to collaborate with an Asian American musical artist and gain valuable feedback from both audiences and industry experts. The residency will conclude with a celebratory summer showcase in 2027, partially supported by a Creative Experiences grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
