Job Summary
Junction Theatre, Goole is searching for Yorkshire based performers and workshop leaders to feature in this year's Takeover Festival.
Job Description
Junction Theatre hosts an annual Takeover Festival in partnership with one of the local Primary Schools in Goole. This year, we are collaborating with the wonderful students of Parkside Primary School who will be acting as 'Young Producers' on the project.
We are looking for dynamic performances and workshops that connect with the theme of Families and Family Life. We'd be happy to hear from individuals and organisations from any art form, however we are particularly keen to engage with live performing arts.
The festival will take place at the theatre in Goole, on the 2nd and 3rd of May 2025.
Job Requirements
Performers and workshop leaders will be required to submit a proposal, ideally with a visual element that we can share with the school children. This may be a video, piece of music or photos of your work.
All successful candidates will require public liability insurance and event specific risk assessments. Workshop leaders will need to provide evidence of an up to date DBS check and safeguarding training. Leaders without relevant safeguarding training will be required to read Junction's safeguarding policy. All documentation should be provided ahead of the workshop date.
There is no fixed fee, we ask that artists provide a cost indication based on their expected fee and expenses. We expect to pay artists fairly and appropriately for their time. Hours may vary from artist to artist. Please clearly indicate in your proposal how long your performance / workshop would be.
Job Responsibilities
Performers and practitioners will be responsible for their performance / workshop set up and take down. They will be responsible for their own props and materials, and ensuring that all electricals brought into the building are safe for use and PAT tested. Junction may be able to provide volunteer support if requested in advance.
