Purpose of this role We are looking for an interim Director who may, if advantageous to both parties, be offered a permanent position At Encounter Performing Arts Company we are looking for a high energy, encouraging, motivated artistic director who isn’t afraid to think outside the box while creating performances that will share a strong message of hope and training up advanced dancers who aspire to a full time professional dance career. We require someone who has a passion for the Lord and is led by the Holy Spirit as they bring glory to the Lord through excellence of their trade. We believe in TRAINING dancers in a healthy, professional, and Christ-focused environment and using dance as a form of worship to the Lord, as well as a tool to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those around the world. EXPERIENCING and encountering the Lord in a personal and life-changing way through the art of dance and through the transforming power of the Word of God (Jeremiah 15:16). PERFECTING the art of dance to the glory of God and for the advancement of the Gospel through performances that display God’s love; that every audience member would encounter the Lord through a visual representation of the saving grace of Jesus Christ. PREPARING students technically and artistically for a professional career in dance as well as preparing spiritually for future ministry opportunities; cultivating excellence in every aspect of life. ENCOURAGING and assisting students in nurturing their unique gifts to reach their full potential to the glory of God. Job Description: Director of Encounter In this role you will: Teach ballet, contemporary, partnering, choreography, pointe and strength and flexibility classes 12-16+ hours per week. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 4:30-8:30 and Saturdays 9am-1pm. Create original choreography for a winter and spring production. Make creative decisions about the details of performances. Interact with other teammates on the Encounter Grace Ministry team to make sure each student gets a seamless experience when transitioning from teacher to teacher Ensure a safe environment is available for all with not only their physical but emotional well-being kept in mind. Encourage students in multiple ways throughout the year including sending notes, awards, and voice messages at the expense of the studio to them. Be a part of studio culture with various paid events throughout the season such as cast parties, in studio events etc. to promote Encounter and build community. Be a part of the performances and events that are going on at the studio to continue to invest emotionally and spiritually into the families that attend and to build the Encounter PAC name. Candidates would also be able to have The ability to market the program through social media, e-mail campaigns and community events The ability to use technology to bring the company into the spotlight through virtual shows or other new advancements in performing techniques The ability to cast a vision for technical elements of the productions with lighting, effects, set and more. The ability to manage the volunteers under you, bringing leadership and creativity together into one position The ability to manage the application, registration and paperwork process of company members The ability to communicate clearly with parents of current and potential company members through e-mail, phone, text and other means necessary. The ability to schedule and plan productions in the theatre including renting the space, coordinating ticketing agencies and implementing or overseeing volunteers related to said productions. The ability to cast and bring to fruition a vision that will grow the program from year to year. Seriously love people Job Details Start Date: 1-4 weeks of paid training between the dates of June 14-July 9th as available. August 1st 2021 start date with a 2 year contract through July of 2023 Hours per week: 30 hours on average, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturdays seasonally and once a month 6 weeks of paid time off yearly with 3 of those weeks in the summer Monthly team meetings will happen once a month, and a weekly meeting with the Ministry director just before teaching hours once a month for each team member as well.
