The Théâtre de la Ville also plays a very important role in supporting creation in professional distribution networks in Quebec and Canada in order to promote exchanges and dissemination of creative theater. Since 1997, the Théâtre de la Ville has hosted a professional meeting - Les Fenêtres - regard sur le théâtre en creation - which brings together theater artists in the making and performing arts programmers from Quebec, Canada and Europe. This event aims to stimulate the circulation of working artists and works in Quebec and elsewhere in French-speaking territories. ** JOB DESCRIPTION ** Reporting to the Executive Director, the artistic co-director is responsible for advising the latter and the programming committee regarding the orientations of the artistic vision of the music, humor and circus division and to develop artistic projects in order to keep audacity at the heart of its mission. This person must also develop the annual programming in line with his field of expertise, for general and young audiences. She is also part of the management and programming committee. The incumbent will work in collegiality with the programming committee and the artistic co-direction (theater, storytelling and dance pole) to develop a signature artistic offer. Responsibilities: Artistic expertise Advise the general management and the programming committee concerning the orientations to be taken concerning the artistic vision; Monitor cultural events and represent the Théâtre de la Ville within certain organizations and professional groups to ensure the visibility of the Theater in the performing arts ecosystem; Write the texts and documents required under his direction. Programming in music, humor, circus and storytelling Propose to the Theater programming committee a choice of shows in the disciplines under its responsibility, for large and young audiences, in accordance with budgets, the artistic policy of the Theater, the programming strategy and its audience development objectives; If necessary, propose to the programming committee the animation and cultural mediation activities that accompany the various shows in connection with these different disciplines, for large and / or young audiences, in accordance with the mediation plan; Suggest innovative ideas for new projects, among others, co-distribution or co-production projects, in accordance with the human and financial resources of the Theater, to assess the financial stakes and to estimate the risks; • Make the presentation of the shows on stage on the days or evenings of the performance concerning it. Management of human and financial resources Participate in the annual strategic planning and the establishment of the budgets of its direction; Support the general management in the achievement of the annual objectives of the Theater by sitting on the management committee of the Theater as well as on the programming committee; Take into consideration the financial and human resources of the Théâtre de la Ville in the development of artistic projects; Collaborate in the search for funding for artistic disciplines and projects under its direction; Ensure good transmission of information within the Theater team. Operations management In collaboration with the customer service manager (rentals and programming), ensure that the calendar of activities of the Théâtre de la Ville is up to date, in terms of programming (including cultural mediation activities, residences or events specials) and rentals; In collaboration with the programming committee and the customer service manager (rentals and programming), ensure balance and consistency in the schedule; In collaboration with the customer service manager (rentals and programming), supervise the proper functioning of the integrated management software (Corpus) and ensure that it is updated by the developer; In collaboration with the communications, marketing and clientele department, establish the position of the Theater as a unique venue for the presentation of shows and the rental of halls; Negotiate contracts for broadcasting, special rental or co-broadcasting or co-production, if applicable, within the parameters established by general management; In collaboration with the customer service manager (rentals and programming), propose a rental policy in order to optimize the use of the rooms; supervise negotiations for the rental of performance halls, studios and foyer; Oversee the updating of the rental guide; Supervise customer service for organizations, producers and artists occupying venues and studios; In collaboration with the person in charge of customer service (rentals and programming), propose the policy of services offered to lessors, artists programmed or in residence and producers and ensure its implementation. Job requirements: Training Hold a bachelor's degree or the equivalent, particularly in an artistic discipline or in arts management. Know how Have 7-10 years or more of relevant experience, including at least 4 years in management in positions related to the performing arts, programming or production in the performing arts; Experience in programming direction; Very good understanding of the issues of broadcasting in Quebec; Seasoned negotiator who can show flexibility and firmness; Ability to assess the feasibility of shows or projects; Ability to develop and maintain business partnerships; Good knowledge of different disciplines in the performing arts; Ability to advise and support a management team in programming choices; Experience in event coordination and budget management; Comfortable speaking in public and representing the organization in different contexts; Excellent communication in French, both oral and written and basic knowledge of English; Ability to use Microsoft Office suite software.
