Aerial Apparatus Technician/Apprentice
CircusConcepts Inc., is one of the largest manufacturers of circus equipment in North America, and is looking for an aspiring (and inspired!) Aerial Apparatus Technician to join its growing team in Sherbrooke. Your role would be to specialize in manufacturing, crafting, and assembling textile acrobatic apparatuses (trapeze ropes, aerial straps, aerial ropes, etc.) of the highest quality for circus artists around the world. The ideal person would know how to work with fabric, webbing and rope, whilst operating with precision, attention to detail, mindfulness, and the highest safety standards.
This job is for someone who is passionate about excellent craftsmanship, enjoys working autonomously, is motivated by challenge, and who is dedicated to developing artisanry with customer satisfaction at the heart of the process. We can also provide paid training, so if you do not have much (or any) experience with textile fabrication, don't let that hold you back from applying!
If you have the following qualities/skills, we want to meet you:
- Passionate about excellent craftmanship and artisanry
- Experience working manually in an artistic and/or functional capacity
- Respectful, independent, organized and punctual
- Bilingual (spoken) preferred
- Enjoys engaging in manual work, while standing for long periods
- Familiar with Microsoft Office

- Flexible to do a variety of related tasks

Additional assets:*
- Experience within the Circus arts
- Knowledge of rope splicing, and whipping
- Sewing experience , ideally industrial
- Basic knowledge of related fields (production, machining, assembly, rigging, sailing, work at heights)
*We are aware that few candidates will have all of these skills, but we are willing to train the right candidate in these techniques under the supervision of our team of professionals.*
General conditions of employment:
- Full-time
- 30+ Hours per week (ideally 35 to 40 hours per week)
- Basic hours between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday to Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on
Friday (schedule can be adjusted to your home life as needed); evening and week-end shifts are also possible
- Salary: $15-21 hrs based on experience
- 3 weeks of annual vacation on a full-time basis
- Manual labor with various tasks involved
- Start of employment: Immediately
