Job Description
Audition announcement: For its new creation "Flash Jazz", a short musical comedy show intended for the private sector that will be performed from December 20 to 26, CYL & FYL MEDIA is looking for a singer and 6 dancers.
THE PROJECT
"Flash jazz" is a 10-minute medley composed of sung and danced numbers. It is a traveling show with an interactive dimension.
A solo singer accompanied by 6 dancers-chorus, revisits some classics from a jazz and contemporary repertoire in a jazz and cabaret atmosphere from the 40s-60s.
The choreography does not involve any technical complexity but requires great precision of movement. Charleston and jazz style choreography (reference: number Le Jazz Hot in Victor Victoria, The Musical Cabaret).
All artists must be versatile, because the show will include singing, dancing, and acting.
REHEARSALS
4 days of residency in full days or half days between December 3 and 9, probably from the 4th to the 7th.
The dates will be communicated to you after the casting. They will take into account the availability of the selected candidates.
PERFORMANCES
6 dates on December 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26 during the day in the Paris region.
REMUNERATION
Rehearsals paid at the union rate in 3-hour rehearsal service or daily fee.
Performances paid at the performance fee.
Remuneration based on the National Collective Agreement for Private Sector Companies in Live Entertainment (CCNESPSV appendix 1)

PROFILES
SINGER SOLOIST REVUE LEADER
Ideally from a professional musical comedy training.
She must also be an actress and have dance basics. She must be comfortable moving.
No physical criteria.
Range: mezzo soprano with good low notes: F2 — C4 chest or mixed
Role: the diva, the revue leader, with a strong stage presence.
Reference: cabaret revue leader (Paradis latin, etc.), Julie Andrews in Jazz Hot in the musical film Victor Victoria, Christina Aguilera in the film Burlesque…
To apply: send a video demo of a song of your choice, in YouTube or vimeo link (1 min is enough, filmed on your phone). No wetransfer!
For the audition:
Prepare Le Jazz hot (version of Glee). and 1 minute verse-chorus of a song of your choice ideally in the style of the role.
The singer will be required to participate in the dance round, even if the choreography will be less demanding for this role.
DANCERS (F/M/X)
Actors-dancers-singers: ideally from musical comedy
OR
Dancers with notions of acting and singing and an ease in interpreting characters.
OR
actors trained in dance with notions of singing.
No physical criteria.
Dance level required: Solid foundations in jazz technique. Notions of burlesque appreciated.
Sing in tune: the role will involve doing the backing vocals, with some parts in polyphony

For the audition: dancers will also have to pass the singing/comedy round. They will have to sing a verse and a chorus of a song of their choice on instrumental tape (1 min)
AUDITIONS
In Paris 1 day between November 29 and December 2.

— 1 round: singing/comedy (including a moment of improvisation in play)
All profiles will have to pass the 2 rounds, with different requirements specific to each role (see Details by role).
