Job Description Moonbeam Theatre are looking for an actor/musician confident in playing the flute and guitar to join us for a week of performances as part of Bury St Edmunds Theatre Royal's 'Doorstep Festival 2025' 21st-26th June. We will be performing our show 'Once Upon A Flowerbed' at local SEN schools and a hospice as part of the festival. 'Once Upon A Flowerbed' is a 40 minute multi-sensory show for children and young people with profound and multiple learning disabilities. Once Upon A Flowerbed follows the seasons in a fairytale flowerbed, with each season offering its own unique sensory wonders to explore! The performance is relaxed and there are lots of opportunities in the show for interactions between audience members and performers, so someone familiar with performing in this way will be ideal. £734 + accommodation and food covered for the festival week (£133 for the rehearsal day and £601 for the festival week) Job Requirements Must be available for a rehearsal on Sunday 18th May (in Canterbury, Kent) and for the Festival in Bury St Edmunds 21st-26th June (not including 22nd June) Must be a confident performer and musician Ability to play the guitar and flute to a high standard Experience with young people with PMLD is preferred but not essential Ability to perform with a sense of playfulness that is open to responding to audience members input and engagement in the moment Accommodation for the festival week has already been arranged, with the company all staying in one accommodation Job Responsibilities To perform 'Once Upon A Flowerbed' 3/4 times a day on 21st- 26th June (not including 22nd June) To facilitate participant's exploration of multi-sensory props in every performance To accompany the performance with the guitar and the flute To assist with get-ins and get-outs at the venues, with the rest of the company
