FRIGID New York is seeking submissions for the site-specific portion of their upcoming 2024 New York City Fringe Festival!



For the first time ever, we are offering slots for five site-specific shows in non-traditional spaces (i.e. not in a theater). New York City Fringe is an unjuried festival and site-specific participants will be chosen on a first come first served basis for up to five productions, provided the application has been approved. We will be approving the applications based on feasibility only, not for artistic judgment of any kind. New York City Fringe will run from Wednesday, April 3rd to Sunday, April 21st, 2024.



We define site-specific as:

A theatrical production/performance that is presented at a unique, specially adapted location and is not designed to be performed in a traditional performance venue. The location may be a hotel, courtyard, converted building, shops, cafes, or in a building renovated for new functions. The performance is designed to be in direct relationship with its location. The Space will need to be approved as safe by our staff to be considered.



The participation fee is $925, for which site-specific Fringe participants get:


100% of the box office


2 “Front of House” managers for 3 hours for up to 4 performances


1 site visit with FOH staff to make a plan for safely interacting with and welcoming the audience.

Inclusion in festival marketing efforts


Guidance with necessary permits where needed and possible (no guarantees given in this department and all associated fees are the responsibility of the Artist)


Ticketing setup, including festival ticketing and 3rd party vendor listings (events held on most city property, such as in public parks, cannot be ticketed)
