Description:DESCRIPTION:This position is the right hand of the owner and the face of Dragonfly. They set the positive and encouraging tone in the studio by maintaining studio culture and atmosphere. There is not another position in Dragonfly with the exposure this position has to our clients. This is a cornerstone position. Duties include but are not limited to: Provide Artistic Direction for Performances, Facilitate Rehearsals, Provide Group Performance Choreography, Teach/Coach an average of 16-20 Classes weekly, Attend and Coordinate Student Participation for Outside Community Events and Cast Related Events, Facilitate Camps, Provide General Studio Management in Relation to Regulating Dragonfly Culture. General In-house Tidiness of the Studio. Assist in Ensuring Classes Have Proper Coverage, ie: Step-in if a Substitute or Assistant is Needed. Assist, as Needed, in Facilitating Competitions, (Virtual and Out of State). The Artistic Director will Average 30 Hours Weekly Between In-House, Outside Event and Administrative Throughout the Year with Camp and Show Seasons Being Heavier in Hours. GENERAL/SAMPLE WEEKLY SCHEDULE Show Season (October-March): 15- Hours Teaching Classes, 10 Hours Administrative & Rehearsals, 5 Hours Weekly Management/Production Meetings. (2 weeks off vacation between Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) Approx. 36 Hours Weekly. Off-Season (April/May): 15- Hours Teaching, 2 Hours Management Meetings, Approx. 17 Hours Weekly Summer Season (June/July): 15 Hours Teaching Classes, 16 Hours Camp Facilitation During the 5 Camp Weeks. Approx. 2 Hours Management Meeting, Assistance producing the Elevate Pro Aerial Competition and Audition Showcase for Aida and Celebrity Cruises. Approx. 25 Hours Weekly. Off-Season (August/September): 16-20 Hours Teaching, 2 Hours Management Meetings, Approx. 22 Hours Weekly (covering competitive team coaches travel dates) Requirements:1) Must have 10 years+ Professional dance experience, preferably ballet focus and contemporary.2) Must have minimum 3 years professional corporate aerial performance experience. 3) Completion of professional program or considerable participation in a professional program such as NECCA or ENC, in multiple apparatus. 4) Someone who can be a team player and assimilate with a cast but also who has been a headlining or feature act. preferably Cirque du Soleil or Cruise Ships, would consider touring Circus, Resorts, etc.. 5) Must be "all in" focus for Dragonfly, supporting its family friendly and community culture. 6) Must be willing and able to teach and direct students from young adult Elites to the 7 yr old little monkeys to the Fab and Fifty. 7) MUST be a TEAM PLAYER. We have 31 artists on staff. 8) Must be comfortable and appropriate in a mentorship like position for our teens. Some benefits avaialble as employee status. Alternatively, this position can be presented as a contract hire. However, Dragonfly has a high performing competitive team, A youth and Adult Performance Company, A teacher training program and an aerial program licensing division.
