Workshop: Aerial hoop variations with Eliana Sofia (15+ years) - Performing Arts Events - StageLync
Sunday 16.2. time 15:00-17:30 (2,5 hours)
Price: 40 €

This workshop will lead you through set variations of tricks, positions, movements and transitions and will teach you to explore and create your own variations. Such exploration will allow you to expand your own personal aerial hoop vocabulary, encouraging you to diversify and improve your skill level in fun and creative ways. Previous experience with aerial hoop is required.

Teacher: Eliana Sofia
Eliana is a creator, expressing herself in the realms of circus, visual arts, and music. She received comprehensive circus training as a teenager in a youth performance troupe in the United States, where she developed an aptitude for both trapeze and aerial hoop. She later moved to Canada where she performed as an independent aerialist for five years, including with the internationally renowned company The Underground Circus. She has been coaching circus internationally (CA, US, DE, FI, EE, CH) for more than nine years. Eliana recently participated in international artist residencies and exhibitions in Finland and Germany as a recipient of the British Columbia Arts Council’s Early Career Development Program Award (2018-2019). She holds a BA in visual arts and Indigenous and Western art history, and she is currently studying a Masters degree in socially-engaged art at the Superior School of Art and Design in Geneva, Switzerland. Her current projects include a Yiddish music research and performance collaboration and a conceptual feminist circus production. www.eliana-sofia.com
