Description: This program will introduce youth to a variety of circus skills including juggling, diabolo, plate spinning, flower sticks, poi, rola-bola, unicycle, tight wire, slack line, stilt walking, simple acrobatics, walking barrels and aerial skills. These skills are taught in ascending difficulty to ensure participants achieve success in all disciplines.

Campers will also learn how to create engaging performances that incorporate their circus skills through physical theatre exercices: character work, mask and clown. Plus, they’ll learn slapstick in the style of Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin. They’ll explore how to fall, trip and take a pie to the face all in a safe and supervised fashion.

A circus demo for the parents will be presented on Friday afternoon from 3 to 4pm. With a focus on fun and growth this class is ideal for youth who want to challenge themselves to learn new skills in a safe supportive environment.
