PRO Talk - Gender Representation in Casting - Performing Arts Events - StageLync
PRO Talks are CircusTalk's live virtual events led by industry influencers and experts focused on career-building topics. Our virtual conversations feature talent seekers from different sectors within circus and the performing arts. PRO members will gain new insights, meet fellow professionals, and strengthen their career connections.

Gender in casting is an evolving conversation within the entertainment industry. Several issues frame the topic, including representation, equality, and the breaking down of traditional gender norms.

In this first PRO Talk of 2024, Stacy Clark’s guest will be writer and award-winning non-binary performance artist, Ess Hödlmoser.

Among other things, Stacy and Ess will touch on how traditional gender roles lead to stereotype casting, how our industry can encourage and action more equitable representation in roles on- and off-stage, and suggestions for creating an inclusive environment for non-binary and transgender artists.

Join us for an honest and vulnerable conversation that promotes diversity, representation, and fairness in the entertainment industry.

This PRO Talk is highly recommended not only for artists but also for talent seekers, festival programmers, producers, and show creators!!

While CircusTalk PRO Talks are events specifically produced for PRO members, we’re making this PRO Talk a FREE event for everyone who wants to join in and contribute to this important conversation. Registration is required as seats are limited.
