Bindlestiff Family Cirkus presents the New York City Unicycle Festival: Four Days of One Wheel Rides

What: New York City Unicycle Festival
When: September 3 - September 6, 2020
Where: Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Staten Island
Cost: Free
Who: All ages and abilities welcome
Website: nycunifest.com

NYC UniFest 2020! We couldn’t let a year go by without seeing our unicycle friends on Labor Day weekend. We’re going to make the best of what we can and plan three socially distant long-distance rides. Let’s soak up the last bit of the summer sun and ride in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Staten Island. See the sights and grab some to-go bites.

The festival is produced annually by the Brooklyn-based Bindlestiff Family Cirkus, bringing contemporary audiences into the grand traditions of the American Circus.

Thursday, September 3, 2020 will take place in Staten Island! First, we’ll start with a lovely boat ride on the Staten Island Ferry, then we’ll hop off and start pedaling down Front Street, along the water. We will make our way through some parks and then head back to the ferry. But we won’t leave without a stop for a solid slice.

Friday, September 4, 2020 is the day we will pedal through Brooklyn. Starting on the Brooklyn side of the Brooklyn Bridge, we will unicycle through Williamsburg all the way to Prospect Park, where we’ll stop and have an evening picnic. When it’s time, back to the Brooklyn Bridge we go, where we’ll end the day in Brooklyn Bridge Park with a sunset and a view.

Saturday, September 5, 2020 will start and end in Battery Park City. We’ll ride along the Hudson River with a nice breeze though our hair as we make our way to the loop of Central Park. We’ll see many of the park’s famous attractions.

Sunday, September 6, 2020, the final day of UniTour, will be spent with fellow riders at the NYC Unicycle Club at Grant’s Tomb.

We want everyone to be safe. There will be social distancing protocols in place: riders will be broken into groups of ten or less; riders will need to stay six feet apart; and helmets and masks will be required. If the situation in New York City changes, or if other unforeseen circumstances arise, the event may be cancelled. Participation is at your own risk.

We hope to see you soon!
