Spraoi, Waterford and Irish Street Arts, Circus & Spectacle Network are thrilled to present NEST18: New Emerging Street Talent at Spraoi Festival 2018.
Spraoi Festival, in partnership with ISACS, will present new work from emerging street artists based in Ireland at the NEST Stage on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th of August at 7.30pm.
The two ISACS member companies spent a week in residency at the Spraoi studio under the mentorship of Simon Thompson from Clown Noirbefore premiering their shows at the festival as part of the N.E.S.T. Programme.

SHOWS:
The Remnants - Turas Theatre Collective
Galway based street theatre company Turas Theatre Collective will be presenting ‘Remnants’, an enthralling tale of three characters whose lives have been disrupted, and who find themselves alone and homeless. A moving and powerful meditation on displacement, the show is a response to the performers’ personal experiences of working in refugee camps with the organisation Clowns Without Border Ireland. Blending movement, physical theatre and soundscape they will tell their story in a unique way, taking you on a compelling journey into a world of stunning imagery and sound.

Resonances - Woven Circus Collective
The Woven Circus Collective is a Belfast Based Trio that specialises in creating contemporary circus alongside traditional inspired music. They will be presenting ‘Resonances’, a social commentary dealing with some of the damaging aspects of Irish culture. The show is a mixture of circus techniques including acrobatics, slack rope, and cyr wheel with theatre, poetry, dance and live music. Resonances will leave you with your heart in your mouth with its combination of fiery encounters and heart-warming moments with mesmerising acrobatic feats woven into the tapestry of the story.

Now in its third year, the N.E.S.T programme is an ISACS Network’ mentoring initiative supported by the Arts Council of Ireland, which offers new emerging street artists the opportunity to develop new work and present it to a public audience in a nurturing environment. It heightens the artists profile among programmers, national and international, and provides ongoing mentoring, support and guidance. Artists who have premiered new work under the N.E.S.T. umbrella have toured their shows nationally and internationally.

This is a ticket free event, there is no need to print your ticket.
