In Focus - Performing Arts Events - StageLync
In focus and out of focus… What’s in the picture and what’s just outside? What is in our minds, what has dropped way out of range? And what does it mean to be focussed and conversely unfocussed?
This theme has especial resonance to circus where a moment’s loss of focus can lead to a drop, a fumble or something even worse.
Our Second Year BTEC students explore this theme, integrating physical theatre with a range of circus work from diverse disciplines. These emerging performers look at all aspects of this pertinent topic whilst trying to stay … In Focus!!
Some of our stimulus for this performance comes from the ‘Sawdust and Sequins- The Art of Circus‘ exhibition of circus pictures that is displayed at the Royal West of England Academy (RWA) from 24 March – 3 June 2018, in celebration of the Circus 250 festival.
