Freedom Festival Arts Trust is an international gateway to exceptional artists and makers, combining epic to intimate moments in public spaces where artists and audiences meet.

One of Arts Council England's National Portfolio Organisations, regarded as a leader in the field of outdoor arts, it is part of the artistic directorate of The Without Walls Network and one of only three UK partners of the Europe-wide IN SITU Network.

Producers of Hull's annual Freedom Festival, now in its 12th year, Freedom Festival is an established fixture on the national and international cultural calendar. This year the festival is extending the celebrations beyond a weekend to five days of wonder, as it expand our indoor programme to give more people the opportunity to see extraordinary performances from award-winning artists from across the world.

A festival born from the city of Hull and its association with the abolitionist movement, themes of empowerment, activism and the potential of community. The festival programme is playfully woven together with world-class street theatre, circus, dance, physical theatre, music, talks visual art, exhibitions, debates and so much more.
