Cirkuliacija; [Re]viewer workshop - Performing Arts Events - StageLync
This accessible and participant involving workshop gives each participant tools they feel they need in their individual and personal work when writing about contemporary circus performances.

This June, 8-10th during festival Cirkuliacija at Kaunas, Lithuania.

We approach writing from various aspects, for example:
Do I need to know a lot before I see a show?
Now, what to pay attention to when I watch this show?
What is the name for that circus discipline thing on stage…?
I have seen the show, now who is MY audience, to whom am I writing about the show and how?
The audience seemed to enjoy the show, I did not – why?!

We focus on discussions, questions and reflections. The main object of the workshop is to build up participants’ self-confidence, to increase joy of writing and to compile a checklist to help in case of ‘writer’s block’. No previous experience of contemporary circus needed! Just bring your notebook and your unique personality!

Program of the workshop and following activities:
June 8th, 1-5PM - first day of the workshop (in Kaunas); introduction seminar (4 hours with breaks)
During 9-10th participants will watch performances in Kaunas; lively discussions will happen right after every show.

After the workshop, every participant will have to write a text/review of the performance(s) or the festival itself.
