Circus Work - Photography by Peter Lavery - Performing Arts Events - StageLync
An exhibition documenting life in the Circus – from backstage ordinariness to sequinned spectacle.

For anyone who has ever dreamt of running away with the circus or simply wondered what life is like for the jugglers, clowns, and acrobats, this exhibition by acclaimed photographer Peter Lavery captures what goes on behind the scenes at the Big Top.

Peter Lavery is best known for his seductive advertising photography, but for the last 50 years he has been photographing circus performers around Britain. All shot on a plate camera, the work is an impressive collection of circus subjects. These intimately detailed photographs expose moments of ordinariness in extraordinary lives.
