Circus Sessions 2019 - Performing Arts Events - StageLync
A new format and a new home for Toronto’s most ambitious circus residency programme!

Co-Produced by Femmes du Feu and TO Live in association with the Canada Council for the Arts and the Ontario Arts Council.

Five years ago, Holly Treddenick, artistic director of Toronto contemporary circus company Femmes du Feu, brought a group of international contemporary circus artists together for a week of exploration, collaboration, and creation and the first Circus Sessions was brought to life. Since then, this annual residency has grown to explore ideas of inclusion, diversity, and accessibility in the circus world, and now it is expanding to include a new format in a new home. New for 2019, Circus Sessions will span two weeks and feature international artists from the emerging and professional circus community. Joining the 24 artists will be mentors and experts in their field, Monica Dottor (Toronto), Bahia Watson (Toronto), and Michelle Man (Spain/UK).

Week one will see emerging artists working together to create a piece of work that will be showcased on Friday, June 21 and Saturday, June 22, 2019. Week two will feature the culminating work of professional artists in residency presented on Friday, June 28 and Saturday, June 29, 2019.
