Circus Sampler ^expired Free

Taking place across two summer weekends in the courtyard of Somerset House, Circus Sampler will feature free contemporary circus, hip hop dance and music shows resulting from original collaborations and unexpected combinations.
Union Black is a new work from hip hop collective Far From The Norm that combines the Company’s signature fast-paced footwork and physical floor-work with the strength and skill of circus artists performing on Chinese Pole and tight-wire. Expect the performers to tear up the stage – and the rule book.
Trailblazers Gandini Juggling will bring their exceptional skills to the courtyard fountain for a specially commissioned piece. Cascade will be performed within the rise and fall of the 55 water jets to the rousing sound of brass music played by Circa Tsuïca – a band of French musical acrobats. As the Gandinis weave patterns in the air, the constant flow of movement and sound will be mesmerizing.
Programmed to celebrate 250 years since Philip and Patty Astley pioneered circus in London in 1768, Circus Sampler is an unmissable opportunity for audiences of all ages to sample the originality and vitality of contemporary circus in the beautiful, historical setting of the Edmond J. Safra Fountain Court at Somerset House.
