The courses are addressing the needs for further development of circus practitioners in the field. They also create an environment for experimentation in the meeting point between education and research on the cutting edge of the development of circus art.

Application for autumn courses is open until 15 April

HANDSTAND SPECIALIZATION 1-5
Alexander “Sasha” Gavrilov, Assistant Professor at the SKH Circus Department, is teaching the Handstand courses. Sasha Gavrilov has a lifetime of experience as a handstand and hand to hand performer and has been teaching circus in Moscow, the Circus Pilots at Cirkus Cirkör and at SKH for the past fourteen years.

INCLUSION AND EXCLUSION IN CIRCUS (NEW!)
We present a new course for artists and researchers, including circus practitioners, directors, thinkers and social actors, who want to develop an understanding and a critical approach to circus as a vehicle and vessel of expression. The aim is for the student to develop critical thinking about circus arts with regard to the historical, cultural, social, ethical, artistic, or political contexts that influence both whom and what can be included in that expression.

Daniel Gulko, leader of the french-based mongrel circus, Cahin-Cahae is teaching the course. He has taught and directed at Circus and Art Schools such as Codarts, JAMU, CNAC, Ecole d’Art d’Aix en Provence, ESAC and ENC.
