Here’s your chance to apply for the 2023 Busking Contest at Carnaval Sztukmistrzów. All interested buskers, circus artists, and street performers are welcome to apply. The third edition of the contest invites street artists from Poland and around the world to show off their skillsWe’ll choose a maximum of 10 of the most interesting and diverse submissions. Those who make the cut will have a chance to perform at some of Lublin’s most attractive spots during Carnaval Sztukmistrzów between 27-30 July 2023.

Submit your project, join us, impress the public, win a financial prize, bring attention and recognition to your project and most of all have fun at Carnaval Sztukmistrzów 2023! We’re waiting for your submissions until 7 May 2023.

What makes it worthwhile?
Carnaval Sztukmistrzów is Poland’s largest festival of new circus, acrobatics, and clowning. During this time, street artists and masters of circus arts from all over the world present breathtaking shows in Lublin.

YOUR HAT IS YOUR FEE
Carnaval Sztukmistrzów’s festival crowd has enthusiastically welcomed buskers for 13 years, attending their shows in great numbers, and tipping generously. Over 120,000 people come to our festival every year. During the four days of the event, you will perform twice daily in some of Lublin’s most attractive locations.

FINANCIAL PRIZE
In this year’s competition, busker shows are eligible to win a financial prize of 3000 Polish zlotys. Audience members will vote online via a special app to determine the winner.

VISIBILITY
Artists selected in the call will be included in the official festival programme. They will be extensively promoted in Carnaval Sztukmistrzów’s printed materials, the festival’s website, and its popular social media channels.


What are the conditions for participation?
New shows or shows that have not been presented at Carnaval Sztukmistrzów in previous years are preferred. As a circus festival, we are most interested in shows that include circus arts (disciplines, props) or those that are circus themed.

We provide the venue and basic technical resources, but the artists need to be technically and organisationally self-sufficient.

Our offer includes accommodation and meals, and we refund travel costs for artists coming from abroad up to 450 euros, and for those coming from Poland up to 1000 PLN.

When?
The deadline for submissions is 7 May 2023
The live shows will take place in Lublin between 27 and 30 July 2023
E-mails will be sent to selected artists.
